It is no news that the love between Anambra State
former governor, Chief Peter Obi, CON and the National Chairman of the All
Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), Chief Victor Umeh, has long gone sour. Not
even the pre-election reconciliation could revive the cordial relationship
between the two politicians as the cold war between them has deepened.
According insider sources, the two of them are now
interested in running for the senatorial position come 2015. Interestingly, the
two heavyweights belong to the same political party (APGA) and come from the
same senatorial zone (Anambra Central) which is presently occupied by Senator
Dr. Chris Ngige, OON.
This indeed will
deepen the already intractable internal crisis rocking the party. With some
months away from 2015 and knowing how uncertain political permutations can be,
it is obvious that Anambra Central Senatorial zone will witness a battle of the
titans.
