THE DOME OWNER EYES THE GREEN CHAMBERS; SET TO BATTLE SENATOR NGIGE AND HON CHARLES ODEDO

It is certainly no news that “The Dome” is one of the exclusive and most talked about hang-out/recreation centers in Abuja. It is a meeting point for the high and mighty, the rich and powerful. However, the owner of The Dome, Chief Obiora Okonkwo is the news at the moment.

The upwardly mobile business impresario who hails from Ogidi (same to Late Prof. Chinua Achebe) is jumped into the murky waters of politics with all his weight. He wants to represent his Federal Constituency (Idemili Federal Constituency) in the House of Representatives come 2015. His posters are now all over Constituency towns and villages confirming our previous speculation that “Dike Ora” as he is fondly called will.

He is a staunch member of the ruling People’s Democratic Party and will be locked in a fierce battle with the incumbent Representative, Chief Charles Odedo for the party’s ticket. Not only that Dike Ora will have to contend with whoever the APC’s candidate will be as that particular Constituency is undoubtedly the  stronghold of Sen. Chris Ngige (Onwa).

While Chief Obiora Okonkwo can be simply described as a success story both academically and economically, only time will tell if that will also translate into political success next year 2015 by him winning the PDP primaries and defeating ADC in Idemili Federal Constituency (the heart and soul of APC in Anambra).
